Hey, I’m Michelle :)

I’m a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner & a licensed clinical social worker.

I’m passionate about providing holistic mental health care that helps my patients to feel truly seen, heard, and deeply cared for.

My work focuses on psychiatric evaluation and medication management, including prescribing and ongoing support.

Whether you’re starting medication for the first time or want to work with a provider who takes a thoughtful + in depth approach, I’ve got you.

About Me + My Practice

I am a doctorally prepared, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (DNP, PMHNP-BC) and licensed clinical social worker (LCSW).

I specialize in thoughtful medication management. This includes psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and prescribing when it’s appropriate. If you’re looking for a provider to help you figure out if medication might be helpful and actually guide you through that process, well, you’ve come to the right place!

I’ve spent several years working in community mental health and continue to do so, alongside my private practice. I’m also an Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at Columbia University, where I train future psychiatric providers.

My background in both nursing and social work shapes how I approach care. I don’t just look at symptoms; I look at the full picture, including stress, relationships, environment, and the broader systems that impact mental health.

My style is collaborative, thoughtful, and grounded in evidence-based care. We’ll work together to understand what’s going on and find a treatment plan that actually fits your life.

FAQ

  • A psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) is a licensed medical provider who can diagnose mental health conditions, provide therapy, and prescribe medication.

In New York, nurse practitioners are able to prescribe medications independently after completing advanced clinical training and required supervised practice hours.

In my practice, this means I can:

    • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations

    • Diagnose mental health conditions

    • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications

    • Provide therapy (when appropriate)
